COLLEGE ACTION PROGRAM

Project Overview

College Action Program (CAP) is dedicated to helping students reach higher-education goals. FWD was tasked with designing a mobile app that motivates college-intending students to actually finish enrollment—a critical gap where ~40% stall out due to limited information and access to help. Our goal: make the path to college clear, encouraging, and doable from a phone.

Role

FWD led UX/UI Design, Research, and Project Management through a focused three-week sprint. We mapped the enrollment journey, identified blockers (FAFSA steps, deadlines, document confusion), and translated insights into a streamlined iOS experience. Deliverables included high-fidelity mobile designs, a reusable design system, and an animation prototype to demonstrate progress cues and micro-interactions.

Outcome

The sprint delivered a production-ready iOS design, a component-based design system for rapid build, and an animation prototype showcasing progress feedback. While CAP has not yet made the app live for reasons unknown to us, the deliverables provide a clear, testable blueprint to guide students from college acceptance to first day of class.
