Project Overview
UCLA School of Nursing needed a secure, user-friendly supplemental application for its Bachelor of Science program—modernizing a process that had relied on paper forms. We translated complex, multi-step requirements into a streamlined digital experience that preserved institutional policies while simplifying completion and review. This engagement was part of a broader collaboration spanning six initiatives for the School. Due to confidentiality, interface screens cannot be shared.
Role
Our team led end-to-end discovery and design: mapping the student journey, interviewing stakeholders (admissions staff, faculty) and students, and converting paper workflows into accessible, responsive interfaces with clear validation and branching logic. We produced iterative design cycles, provided comprehensive quality assurance testing, and partnered closely with technical teams to ensure reliable data capture and smooth handoffs.
Outcome
The supplemental application has been used by thousands of applicants and has remained largely unchanged across cycles—evidence of a strong fit and durable usability. The digital format streamlined submissions, reduced errors , and delivered more consistent, complete data to admissions—improving the experience for both applicants and reviewers.
